Sweden was recently described as a very feminine society. Why? Because gender roles are more flexible!
The Swedish government’s website has this to say on gender equality.
‘The overarching principle is that everyone, regardless of gender, has the right to work and support themselves, to balance career and family life, and to live without the fear of abuse or violence.’
Because of this principle, Swedish men decided to live their lives by losing a shop- worn cliché: Women’s work.
Now, we see these men proudly caring for their children and looking their best while doing it. A helluva example! All this gets them is comments like all the gay nannies, and they use so much hair gel. These comments will tell you more about the commentator that he commented on. They are comparing their own culture against the Swedes on zero experience, and theirs won! How strange?
The idea of new dad’s taking paternity leave might sound odd, but first, look at their reasons? They want to be there for their partner. Who did live through some of the most challenging hours of her life! Shouldn’t she get to feel appreciated as she recovers? These men want to be there for their children to have as deep a bond as the mother and child traditionally do. And guess what?
The Swedish government responded to the wishes of its people and arranged paid paternity leave! It’s coming out of the taxes these people have been spending all their working lives. It is their money after all, not their governments. Their government believes it’s there to serve their people, not rule them.
The Swedes may seem a bit strange at first glance. They are family-oriented; gender is a matter of who you wish to be, not as you are defined. Racism there is illegal and a chargeable offense. Sweden has 100% pay equality for all Blue Collar jobs and almost 95% and increasing in White Collar jobs. Inequality is against the law there.
They not only believe people deserve a better
life but that they should have one! That men and women are equal but not the same. If someone feels this is somehow wrong, they are told: It’s the law! Sweden isn’t a strictly feminine society any more than others are purely masculine. It’s merely one culture attempt to improve itself, and it’s a work in progress...quite a lot of progress!
